Three tales of TERROR!

I really don’t have a lot to add about today’s article — a review of The Story of Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Wolfman — and since it’s late and I’m really hot (temperature-wise, I mean) I’ll keep this brief. Please let me know what you think of the review, and definitely share your thoughts if you own this CD or order it following my recommendation! It really is a fun listen, and while it wasn’t what I expected in terms of content, it definitely exceeded my expectations in terms of quality. Heck, for $1, it could’ve gotten away with being much, much worse.

Until next time! 😈

  • You know, based on the package art, I would have been expecting a more cutesy “Monster Mash style” take on these characters. But, it sounds like the stories on this disk are actually pretty dark.

    Cool!

I have a dollar-store Halloween CD, too. Mine features a pretty decent cover of “Monster Mash”, then a spooky narrator and two goofy ghost sidekicks introduce the rest of the disk, which consists of a few ghost stories told by the spooky narrator, some corny jokes told by the goofy ghost sidekicks, and a few interludes of creepy organ music with sound effects.

It also comes with a little book of Halloween party ideas, including using the disk as the audio portion of a puppet show.

Not too bad for a dollar, I guess.

    • Wes says:

Not bad at all! There are very few things that aren’t worth a dollar, though those kinds of products do indeed exist. Your CD with wisecracking ghosts sounds like gold… and I think I must find it now. What is it called? 🙂

  • I forget.

I tried to find it, and scan the cover to show you, but I suspect it’s in a box of Halloween stuff somewhere in my basement or attic.
