The Green Ranger is my favourite incarnation of Tommy. So much conflict and angst that was abandoned when he became the squeaky-clean White Ranger.

But, just think he's been the Green Ranger, the White ranger, The Red Zeo Ranger, and the Black Brachio Ranger.

I suddenly hope that, when I get old, I get to watch a geriatric Jason Frank as a very elderly Tommy Oliver that magically transforms into a young healthy Power Ranger in what ever version of Power Rangers I end up annoying my fellow nursing home residents with in the future.

Anyway, I'm surprised you didn't make it past the first 15 minutes of the movie. I kinda consider the MMPR movie to be one of the highlights of their heyday, and one of the few advantages PR has over it's Japanese Super Sentai counterpart (which I usually prefer).

Ivan Ooze is one of my favourite movie villains ever.

I only saw the Turbo movie once, but I'm about to rectify that (I just found it on Youtube, and I have no better ideas on how to spend the night). I'm surprised they're both on DVD. Are any cool bonus features?

BTW I'm developing a flash series right now. Want me to send you an E-Mail about it?

I think I'll pass on the SFPR movie -- I haven't seen those Parody Rangers eps and don't remember the MMPR movie well at all, though I did see it in the local budget theater as a kid. I also have it on DVD, and I sat down to watch it once, but it annoyed the flip out of me 15 minutes into the film so I popped it out and watched TMNT II: Secret of the Ooze that evening instead. Maybe one of these days I'll try again... and since I have the Turbo movie on DVD as well, I could make a marathon of sorts of it. :P

That White Ranger is from this year, actually! It's one of the Super Legends Collector Series chase figures packed in with the Jungle Fury figures -- earlier this year they had the Green Ranger (ALSO the same dude!) and Zedd, and currently the White Ranger and the Gold Ranger are the coveted figures. I actually picked up the White Ranger with intent to use him for a possible Casshan custom, but I've found that I like him too much to do anything to him! He's also got far too many protruding details, which makes him a less than ideal Casshan base.

Anyway, I recommend the figure -- especially since you're such a Ranger fan -- so grab him if you see him! :)

Well they're only both the same guy in the American version.

Actually, I do remember seeing the commercials for "Dino Thunder" about Tommy returning as they're teacher. I wanted to start watching Power Rangers again because of that, but it's time-slot was way too inconvenient.

It's funny that you posted something Power Ranger related, though. Because I've been on something of a Power Ranger kick lately because of all the great Power Ranger parodies on the net.

In fact, Chris Niosi finally posted the first installment of "Super Freakin' Parody Rangers: The Movie" (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/462653).

Recommended only if you saw all three episodes of Parody Rangers, remember the MMPR movie well, don't mind watching a feature length flash movie broken up into 5 minute segments, and have the sense of humor of a 12 year old (I qualify wonderfully).

Anyway, How recent was that White Ranger toy made anyway? I'd be surprised if they're still making toys based on that version of PR.
