It’s a case of mistaken identity in Dusty Plastic HELLside #16, as Iron Man encounters none other than Scarlett! But Scarlett who? And who’s inside that armor — Tony Stark or Robert Downey Jr.? This is quite confusing. (3/26/10)

When the Most Powerful Man in the Universe comes to town, Skeletor’s forces hide in fear. However, evil isn’t the only thing in danger when He-Man’s around… as we see in Dusty Plastic HELLside #15. (3/26/10)
Excuses, excuses, excuses — but hey, have a couple of Dusty Plastic HELLside comics! There’s HELLside #15, in which we learn why Teela’s stance is so bloody wide, and HELLside #16 has a bit of fun with character and actor names and whatnot. The latter joke’s probably been done a million times over by now, but eh.
If you’ve been missing my work, swing by Articulated Discussion — since the last Scary-Crayon update, I’ve posted a review of Battle Armor He-Man, a couple of Bootleg Tuesday entries, and a review of the Iron Man Mark VI (with power-up glow!). Cool stuff, yessir.
I do have more content planned for Scary-Crayon — I just keep getting distracted! And right now I’m kinda ill and guzzling this disgusting CVS medicine that I found in the basement after it flooded. Anyway, more to come when it does. Ja!
“Get in gear” takes on new meaning as Eka Darville — the RPM Red Ranger — assumes the role of a gay slave in “Spartacus: Blood and Sand.” Beware of spoilers: his fate is revealed in Dusty Plastic HELLside #14. (3/9/10)
Still more stuff to come, but here’s a quick update in Dusty Plastic HELLside #14. Quick explanation for those of you who aren’t familiar with “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” and “Power Rangers: RPM”: after playing the Ranger Red on the latter show, Eka Darville went on to portray the character of Pietros in “Spartacus”… and Friday’s episode saw Pietros hang himself. In this comic, He-Man is standing in for the outraged Spartacus. And then of course there’s the meme reference. I don’t really care if it’s forced — and I missed the attempt at forcing it altogether — it just seems funny to me with the bad grammar and apparent outrage. I think it needs multiple question marks as well as exclamation points to have its maximum effect, though!
In other news, I’ve written several Bootleg Tuesday entries for Articulated Discussion since last time — on February 23rd, March 2nd, and March 9th (that’s today!) — so feel free to swing by there and check them out! And do leave comments. I like comments.
Until next time, which will hopefully be sooner rather than later!
