Bits & Pieces

"Make things go BOOOOOOOM!!!"

THROTTLE MAX RANGER GOLD!!!

We’ve been praising Power Rangers toys for over a year, but figures were largely absent from the site… until today! After reading our review of Throttle Max Ranger Gold, you too might become a Power Rangers fan.  (11/10/09)

He's got a *bone* to pick with you!

WOLF BREATH REVISITED!!!

In February 2008, we reviewed the Madballs Series 2 Wolf Breath — along with the other ‘balls in the series — in an advance review. We didn’t like him. But now that the toys are finally on shelves, our tune has changed!  (11/2/09)

He's gonna CUT YA!

THE EVIL BUZZSAW SAMURAI!!!

On the other hand, maybe he’s not all that evil! Admittedly, we at Scary-Crayon have very little information about the true personality of the Buzzsaw Samurai. We do, however, have a review of the Jazwares action figure!  (10/26/09)

Jon Pertwee as the third Doctor!

THE 3RD DOCTOR & DALEK SET!

Retro flavor abounds in our review of the new third Doctor and Dalek 2-pack! These overpriced figures aren’t perfect, but the target audience will eat them up… and perhaps get a mouthful of grease in the process.  (10/19/09)

Are you man enough to fight with him?

STREET FIGHTER IV GUILE!!!

When we think of Guile, three words immediately spring to mind: DISCIPLINE, JUSTICE, COMMITMENT! Yet while NECA’s SFIV Guile lacks that goofy charm (not to mention useful accessories), it’s still a great figure.  (10/12/09)

It's a Capcom/G.I. Joe crossover!

Dusty Plastic HELLside #10!

Street Fighter characters just keep popping up in these strips, don’t they? In Dusty Plastic HELLside #10, Sakura prepares to receive special training from Flint — but given the circumstances, he’d better teach quickly!  (10/12/09)

Kanye's really happy for you, and he's gonna let you finish, but...

Dusty Plastic HELLside #9!

And in Dusty Plastic HELLside #9, Scary-Crayon flogs that dying horse Capcom style with a handful of takes on the popular Kanye West meme! And when you finish checking it out, look up Vajrabodhi on Wikipedia.  (9/18/09)

What, you thought Raph would've studied with M. Bison?

Dusty Plastic HELLside #8!

The Street Fighter figure cameos continue in Dusty Plastic HELLside #8! In this quick comic, Ryu and Raphael of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles train to keep from killing the bloody heck out of those they hold dear.  (9/14/09)

Bison killed Chun-Li's father... now he will pay!

Dusty Plastic HELLside #7!

The strongest woman in the world is back in Dusty Plastic HELLside #7 — and with Bison on the scene, Chun-Li’s ready to avenge her father’s death. But taking revenge just isn’t as satisfying without the proper audience…  (9/4/09)

The strongest woman in the world will lightning kick your ass.

THE BEST CHUN-LI FIGURE YET.

Heck, aside from one glaring and pervasive problem and a few minor ones, NECA’s Street Fighter IV Chun-Li might even be the best possible Chun-Li action figure ever. Dig the photos — the toy really is fantastic.  (9/1/09)

Sarah Connor takes aim!

Dusty Plastic HELLside #6!

Terminator Salvation might’ve been a weak film, but “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” was a truly awesome TV show. It’s not like it’s the only great show with a titular heroine named “Sarah,” though! Try not to get confused.  (9/1/09)

IT'S GOJIRA!!!

Dusty Plastic HELLside #5!

In Dusty Plastic HELLside #5, that most famous king of monsters — the mighty GODZILLA — returns! But wait! Are there two of them?! And what’s with that song? Perhaps there is beauty in the heart of the beast.  (8/22/09)

Cobra Commander and Shockwave!

Dusty Plastic HELLside #4!

Once again, the Commander graces our humble site with his glorious presence… and this time he’s joined by his old pal Shockwave! But these are short comics, so they’re not up to much in Dusty Plastic HELLside #4.  (8/16/09)

THE RISE OF COBRA!!! (Or not…)

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra recently debuted in theaters to not-so-stellar reviews… but what does Scary-Crayon have to say about this latest film adaptation of a beloved 1980s cartoon and Hasbro toyline? Find out here!  (8/13/09)

Storm Shadow versus Snake Eyes!

Dusty Plastic HELLside #3!

Any halfway decent Joe movie’s gotta have a showdown between Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes, right? In Dusty Plastic HELLside #3, we make joking reference to the pair’s portrayal in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.  (8/11/09)

On the cartoon, she even dated a vampire.

BLACK CAT IS ON THE PROWL!!!

What comic book superhero would be complete without a naughty temptress urging him to look the other way once in a while? No hero would willingly turn a blind eye to this Black Cat figure, though. She’s a hottie.  (8/6/09)

Dusty Plastic HELLside #2!

The Grim Reaper is back again, and this time he’s visiting Snake Mountain in the land of Eternia! Is Skeletor about to take a dirt nap, or is something else amiss? To find out, you’ll have to read Dusty Plastic HELLside #2.  (7/31/09)
