Aaand after the April Fool’s Day hijinx, we’re back to less deceptive (but still foolish enough!) content with Dusty Plastic HELLside #17. If you don’t get the joke, I’ll explain: Little Sisters grow up to be Big Sisters, and Big Sisters wear that tight, sexy fetish garb that would probably choke the life from a fetus before it even began to form. And the title… well, you don’t see any feminine bulges up top, do you?

I’ve got a new installment of Bootleg Tuesday there, so you should read that as well! Oh, and I posted an April Fool’s Day review on AD… funny stuff, to be sure.

Heck, let’s plug a new site while we’re at it! Wes GRogan’s Is it Fun? is off to a great start and is definitely worth a look. In the near future I’ll have it added to the links block — basically, whenever I get around to making a link button for it or whenever Wes GR sends me one (HINT HINT), since apparently Heroine Addict has gone the way of the dodo. Man, why do cool sites keep going away? Ah well, it’s teh Internet — there’s always new content popping up. Most of it is pr0n, but still.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON!!!

I wasn’t really into the Twilight series before I saw this movie, but The Twilight Saga: New Moon has truly made a fan of me. Keep reading to find out why this is a brilliant film — and the best vampire movie ever made.  (4/1/10)

In case you couldn’t tell or didn’t notice the date, I totally wasn’t being serious in my review of The Twilight Saga: New Moon — this movie is terrible. Bella spends most of it being a whiny bitch; the vampires are either uninteresting stock characters, stupid, or just plain jerks (or all of the above); and there’s a lot of stuff with the story that just doesn’t work, except it does because Stephenie Meyer (or the director/screenwriter/etc.) says it does. Perhaps because it’s based on a book, there’s also a lot of exposition — much of which involves the characters explaining why they have to do things a certain way, as with the whole stopping Edward from exposing himself thing. And there’s the stupid sparkling.

I can’t say this is the worst vampire movie I’ve ever seen, but it’s probably the worst I’ve seen with production values this high. It’s not even really a vampire movie. It’s a movie about a teenage girl whining and flirting with death because her boyfriend moved away and she’s oh-so sad, but then she meets this other guy and things aren’t so bad except they are because she’s still oh-so sad and runs off at the drop of a hat to be with the dude who left her — it just has vampires and werewolves and other supernatural stuff along for the ride.

Speaking of rides, the Twilight series depicts vampires as being Flash fast — so why the hell are they driving cars? I’d just run everywhere.

EDIT: And do let me know if it’s not displaying properly! I didn’t spend the weeks that I spent working on the actual site design, so there may be browser quirks I haven’t tested and accounted for… not that I’ll actually go to the trouble of trying to address them for a mock layout (although that’s precisely what I’ve spent the last hour doing @_@), but I would like to know about them for future reference.
